Careif Chair delivers keynotes and workshops across India and Sri Lanka

Careif Chair, Professor Rachel Tribe, visited India and Sri Lanka in the spring after receiving invitations to run workshops or give talks there. She had a very successful trip which included giving a keynote talk at the International Conference on Counselling and Psychotherapy (ICCP) 2026 in Bangalore, India.

Her keynote topic was Co-Producing Faith-Based Mental Health Capacity Building: A Community Psychology Intervention with the Church of Ceylon. This presentation discussed the Careif project which has involved several of our trustees and has been conducted over the last four years. She also co-ran a workshop on Integrating Faith and Psychology to Strengthen Community Mental Health.

She then travelled to Kolkata and held an invited workshop at the International Conference on Cognitive Behavioural interventions (ICCBI ) at the University of Kolkata. In addition to running a workshop on Writing and publishing your research, she was also invited to give an opening speech there.

The University of Kolkata established the first training in clinical psychology in India and Professor Tribe met with senior staff members, students and colleagues whilst there. This was organised by Dr Nimisha Kumar, whom she also met in Delhi where she discussed further collaborations between Careif and Dr Kumar and her network.
