Lord Victor Adebowale, chief executive of the charity Turning Point and one of careif's first patrons, hosted the official launch of the charity careif on 14 February 2007. Over 120 people attended in total, including representatives of different governments, private industry and practitioners. Scottish writer, presenter and reporter Hardeep Singh Kohli and actor Tony Gardner were also present.
